Only 1 month to go til we head overseas again, and I’m counting down the days! This time next month we’ll be jetting our way over to the Philippines, adding a new country to my passport (inching closer to racking up 10 countries later this year!). Philippines will be then followed by a return back to one of my very favourite countries, Thailand, although we’ll be visiting a part we haven’t yet been to. Given we only have a short amount of time on this trip, and it’s over Easter which is Holy Week and a peak season for travel in the Philippines, we’ve pre-booked the majority of our travel well in advance. The plans so far:
1/2 day in Manila (pretty much in transit) – no hotel booked yet, any suggestions? Near the airport is preferable as we have an early flight to Kalibo the next morning!
4 days in Boracay – we’ve booked into the Hennan Garden Resort
2 days in Manila – staying with a friend
4 days in Krabi – booked into the Centara Anda Dhevi for a bit of luxury to round out the trip!
So… this is Gili Trawangan not Krabi or Boracay, but it’s the beach!
We planned this trip as a bit of a short beach break to get in some relaxation, making the most of the public holidays that are wedged closely together this year to use only a very small amount of our precious annual leave. I am also planning to do a scuba dive discovery in either Boracay or Krabi. Ash has his Open Water PADI, but I’ve never scuba dived before, and having mastered snorkelling recently I’m keen to give it a try. This might inspire a future trip to then get my PADI so Ash and I can dive together. Ash hasn’t been on a dive for quite a few years, so he’ll probably do a refresher course while I do my Open Water certification. I’m super excited that on the flight back to Australia we managed to get a really good deal on Air Asia’s Premium Economy with the lie-flat beds, look out for a review of that after the trip as well as my thoughts on the hotels we stayed at!
Any suggestions for our time in Boracay, Manila and Krabi?
